Edison Arantes do Nascimento, nicknamed Pelé, is often said to be the greatest footballer of all time. He is a former Brazilian footballer. In recognition of his greatness and immense popularity he was given the title ‘Athlete of the Century’ by the International Olympic Committee. He was also officially declared as the football ambassador of the world by FIFA. During his career he was called ‘The King of Football.’ He is a member of the American National Soccer Hall of Fame. He is the top scorer in the Brazilian football team and the only one to be part of three World Cup winning squads. He is also much interested in charity work like poverty alleviation.
